This show is so fucking good.
- I can't get over how perfect Peter Dinklage is. Characters like Tyrion, plus all the many female characters, are why I got sucked into the books in the first place. I say this over and over again, but I HATE HATE HATE eurocentric feudalist high fantasy, yet the books/show have just enough moral complexity and non-normative characters that I still love them. Tyrion has this amazing balance of smug privilege and desperate insecurity -- after all, his society doesn't even think of him as a fully human, or a man -- and he knows exactly how lucky he is, and how unlucky.
- I love how Renly is getting more complicated than we see him in the books, and how he's being contrasted to Robert with just a very few strokes. In the beginning, we think Robert's supposed to fit the mold of a a happy-go-lucky, crass, not-too-bright but basically honorable king. A stock character, in other words. Then we find out he's a psychopath. Not the worst psychopath of the lot, but still.
- Aidan Gillen as Littlefinger. Soooo smoooooth.
- Robb Stark is showing off some charisma. I love his intense stare. The whole Stark family seems to fit together so well.
- The Theon and Ros scene. I love Ros. And I'm enjoying how they added a whole new whore character with her own lines and an awesome, fuck-you kind of attitude. I'm kind of hoping her character doesn't get conflated with another character later on in the series. Because she's good enough to stand on her own. This is a really grim world for women (well it's a grim world for everyone, but especially women) and characters like her show women making the best of what they've been given without making soft-padding their circumstances.
- Daenerys eating the heart. Hardcore. Yeeeeaaaaah. Then Viserys finally getting it. I hate him so much. YAY! And Jason Momoa's epic heaving chest and eyeliner. I am greatly looking forward to the new Conan movie, by Crom!

And I like how they incorporate class issues too. It REALLY sucks to be poor and get on the bad side of nobility. Poor Mycah.
Love that golden crown Viserys got.
